About Our Church
Discover the rich history and vibrant community of St. Janani Church of Uganda Kabalagala
Our History
St. Janani Church of Uganda Kabalagala was established in 1968 as a small worshiping community serving the growing Anglican population in the Kabalagala area. Named after Janani Luwum, the former Archbishop of Uganda who became a martyr for his faith, our church has stood as a beacon of hope and spiritual nourishment for over five decades.
From humble beginnings meeting in a temporary structure, the church has grown to become one of the prominent Anglican congregations in Kampala. Our current church building was consecrated in 1985 and has since undergone several expansions to accommodate our growing congregation.
